Zachary Taylor (November 24, 1784 – July 9, 1850) was the 12th President of the United States (1849–1850) and an American military leader General Zachary Taylor exercised that rank in the Blackhawk Wars.

Winfield Scott (June 13, 1786 – May 29, 1866) was a United States Army general in the Black Hawk Wars and unsuccessful presidential candidate of the Whig Party in 1852. He served as Commanding General of the United States Arm for twenty years, longer than any other holder of the office and received a brevet promotion in 1856 to the rank of lieutenant general, becoming the first American since George Washington to hold that rank.

General Henry Atkinson (1782 – June 14, 1842) was a United States army officer, commander of Black Hawk Wars. Appointed brevet brigadier general and was in overall command of U.S. forces during the Black Hawk War. Atkinson was criticized for mishandling the operations of the war and his reputation did not prosper as did those of his subordinates Zachary Taylor and Henry Dodge.
Blackhawk Wars
The Blackhawk Wars are widely credited with stimulating the US policy of Indian removal (proposed and presided over by President Andrew Jackson), in which Native American tribes were forced to sell their lands for little to nothing, interned in disease infested stockades, and driven west of the Mississippi River; also known as The Trail of Tears.
FYI: Ma-ca-tai-me-she-kia-kiak, aka Black Hawk was a person, the chief of the Sauk tribe in what is now the American Midwest. There was, and has never been a “Black Hawk Tribe. While attending an Illinois graduate program I met countless people who claimed to be, “part Blackhawk.” The Chicago Blackhawks is also a hokey team in the region.
These are beaded portraits of Notable Americans who participated in atrocities against Native Americans during the "Blackhawk Wars" for all of whom participation in these atrocities benefited them personally as well as professionally and contributed to their subsequent recognition as "Notable Americans" in mainstream historical media.
