The American bison bison symbolizes the American frontier and all it's bounty. These "plains" bison roamed the entire expense of North America, even the woodland areas of the East and West coasts. This bison is a yearling, it hasn't differentiated into male or female traits, but it still weighs between 500-700 pounds. This print uses an image of Karen Sixkiller's original wall mounted ceramic bison head made in glazed and stained ceramic.
